news page pic Music chart summary: w/e January 22nd 2011...

This week, the top slot was taken by Bruno Mars was Grenade, who tells us he could "catch a grenade for ya". Well, please do! That'll save us having to listen to your bland, autotuned attempt at music again. Rihanna is deposed to No.3 as a result, with Jessie J's Do It Like a Dude climbing from No.5 to No.2 and JLS arrive at No.10 with Eyes Wide Shut, which entered the charts last week at No.79.

Meanwhile, there are new entries in the Top 40 for:

  • 25 Glee Cast - Telephone
  • 30 Kanye West and Jay-Z - H•A•M
  • 35 Glee Cast - Empire State Of Mind
  • 38 Tinchy Stryder feat. Melanie Fiona - Let It rain

Lower entries outside the Top 40 include:

  • 48 Glee Cast - Billionaire
  • 51 Glee Cast - Listen
  • 53 Keri Hilson - Pretty Girl Rock
  • 59 Pitbull feat. T-Pain - Hey Baby (Drop It To The Floor)
  • 60 Taio Cruz feat. Kylie Minogue - Higher
  • 71 Nelly feat. Akon and T-Pain - Move That Body
  • 84 B.o.B - I'll Be In The Sky
  • 96 Glee Cast - What I Did For Love
  • 97 My Chemical Romance - SING

In the album charts, Rihanna retains the top slot with Loud, with Plan B at No.2 and Cee Lo at No.3.

The other new entries come from:

  • 14 Emma's Imagination - Stand Still
  • 22 British Sea Power - Valhalla Dancehall
  • 28 Israel Kamakawiwo'ole - Somewhere Over The Rainbow
  • 46 Ed Sheeran - No 5 Collaborations Project
  • 76 Keri Hilson - No Boys Allowed

Check out last week's chart here.

The new release dates for singles and albums can be found HERE and they go up to late March 2011.
