It's only been 7 months since Neil Young last put out 10 tracks for your
delight and delectation, but do the political messages still have the
same bite from this grumpy old man?
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Elly Roberts
spins the disc and tells us.
Does anyone know the real Monsieur Hire, on DVD...?
Everyone hates him, but no-one knows him, this short, reclusive man who
keeps himself to himself 24/7. He's also a bit of a perv, spying on women
in their apartments, but what happens when he's spotted and starts being
played at his own game?
It's been four years since their last studio album, but this time round
they've come back with 28 tracks across two CDs, but is it a case of 'all
killer, no filler' or are there some duffers in there? They've had a good
start so far with a No.2 single in Dani California.
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Elly Roberts
checks it out.

Ease into the weekend with a mini-LP from The Late Cord...
Only five tracks are on this disc, but as
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Elly Roberts
confirms, it's not exactly a case of being short but sweet as it can be
hard work that's not for the casual listener.
Stuck for something to do this weekend? The list of the films showing at

The new films out include: X-Men 3: The Last Stand and

Knopfler and Emmylou provide a welcome duet on CD...
Duets have a propensity of being hit-and-miss affairs, according to
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Elly Roberts
but this is a meeting of minds and voices that certainly seems to work
across the 12 tracks.

What's 'Fundamental'ly wrong about the new Pet Shop Boys CD...?
Released today:
20 years in the music business and The Pet Shop Boys soldier on even
though, for me, their album tracks are far better than their singles
of recent years, but in both cases it's still a far cry from their time
during the '80s and '90s.
And so, on to their latest release, courtesy of

There's nothing like a bit of jazz fusion from Dr John, and as

Terri Walker was one 'the next big thing' and had her name bandied about in

her latest album lacks the principle ingredient - soul.

Nicolas Cage goes gun-running in Lord of War on DVD...
When I saw the trailer for this movie, I thought 'action', I thought 'Con Air',
I thought 'The Rock'... and I couldn't have been more wrong as it's more
a drama and not really an actioner at all, but still it's a deceptively
intriguing one as Nicolas Cage goes selling guns to all and sundry.
This week sees their hit single Crazy topping the charts for the
7th week in a row. And for once, it's a track that actually deserves its

Last year,
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Dan Owen
kept us up to date with the latest ongoings for the then-new Doctor, Christopher
Eccleston, but how does his tenure fare now he's become David Tennant?
This week he stopped off on a spaceship in the 51st Century, but one which

are some clockwork robots stalking a woman from that period and what could
they possibly want from her?

which starts on Thursday, May 18th on Channel 4.
According to
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Elly Roberts,
Adam Green is a 24-year-old whose music boldly goes places where artists
his age wouldn't normally dare. Find out why in this review.
Stuck for something to do this weekend? The list of the films showing at
Manchester Showcase Cinema
can be found on this page, and won't differ much from what's on in the rest
of the country.
The new films out include: Mission: Impossible 3, Three, 16 Blocks and
Slither.
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Dan Owen returns with his
regular movie news section which looks at future releases and features US and UK
top 10 cinema listings, UK release dates, websites and trailers.
Last year,
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Dan Owen
kept us up to date with the latest ongoings for the then-new Doctor, Christopher
Eccleston, but how does his tenure fare now he's become David Tennant?
This week he was back in the present day, finding out what aliens were up
to at a school, while also reuniting with two old friends - Sarah Jane Smith
and K-9. Just a shame this was only for one episode as it would've made a
pleasing two-parter.
Past and present collide in Driver: Parallel Lines on Xbox...
We last saw a Driver game back in 2004 as Tanner took out the trash with
some erratic driving and some woeful character control, but a very
engaging and intriguing game once you got into it, still calling you
until it was complete.
This sequel takes you, as TK, from 1978 to 2006, but have they fixed the
problems and made this the game Driv3r should have been?
War is hell - Over There: The Complete Series on DVD...
Released today:
This recent TV series is about a group of soldiers from varying backgrounds
thrown together for their first tour of duty in Iraq, which sounds like it
could effectively be the TV series of 'Platoon', in essence.
How does it all hang together according to
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Helen M Jerome.
Generally, you know the kind of album you're getting when Bruce Springsteen
releases a new one - plenty of rock-out tunes sung with heart and passion,
but while he puts all his effort into it, the musical style is distinctly
different as
DVDfever.co.uk reviewer Elly Roberts
tells us Bruce goes barn-dancing hillbilly style!

The release dates for singles go up until early July
with albums also until late June 2006.
